What is the IB Diploma Program?

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IB DP) is a demanding and balanced academic program curated to equip students aged 16 to 19 for university success and life thereafter. The objective of the DP program is to foster knowledge, curiosity, compassion, and open-mindedness in students, while promoting an understanding of diverse cultures and perspectives. Universities worldwide acknowledge and respect the IBDP, and data indicates that a higher percentage of DP students pursue university and tertiary education compared to non-IB students. Throughout their course, DP students are prompted to contemplate the essence of knowledge, conduct independent investigations, and initiate community projects. Students select six subjects, one from each group, with three at a higher level (HL) and three at a standard level (SL).

The core of the diploma program

The fundamental DP, comprising three compulsory elements, seeks to enrich the learning journey of students and encourage them to utilize their acquired knowledge and abilities.
