What documents do I need to submit to transfer to school from another educational organization?

Everyone who wants to enroll in the school will have to take an entrance test and an interview. After successfully passing the entrance tests, you will need to provide the following documents:

Copy / original of the birth certificate;
A copy/ original of the passport of both parents;
Child’s passport;
Photos of the child (3×4 cm) — 4 pcs.;
Medical certificate / card No. 086 / 026 (certificate of vaccinations No. 063);
An exit ticket from the school where your child studied earlier ;
The student’s report card (mastering).

How are meals organized at school?

The school provides five balanced meals a day.

Meals at Oxbridge School are organized taking into account children’s needs and healthy nutrition. Special menus are prepared weekly for children, consisting of five meals during the day: breakfast, lunch, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.

Breakfast often includes dairy products, cereals, bread, butter, and eggs.

Lunches are usually made up of protein dishes (meat, chicken, eggs), side dishes (cereals, potatoes), vegetables (salads)  and drinks.

An afternoon snack is a light snack, for example, a drink and various pastries.

Dinner usually also includes proteins, carbohydrates and vegetables, but may be somewhat lighter compared to lunch. Water is usually provided to children throughout the day.

Control over the quality of products and compliance with sanitary standards plays an important role in the organization of meals in kindergarten. Appropriate alternatives are usually provided for children with allergies or special dietary needs.

All food is prepared by school chefs, which ensures its high quality and freshness. The products are purchased from trusted suppliers who have all the permits.

Is there a school uniform?

Yes, wearing a uniform is mandatory. School uniforms can be purchased at our store, which is located on the school grounds.

Do they give grades in the first grade?

In the first grade, students begin to receive grades from the 3rd quarter.

Does a child have to be able to read and write by the 1st grade?

We conduct entrance tests to check a child’s emotional, intellectual and social readiness for school. It is also important for us to get to know the child and his parents, discuss the specifics of the school, educational opportunities and family expectations. We do not check the ability to read, write, count and knowledge of a foreign language.

What is evaluated when students are admitted to the first grade?

When enrolling students in the first grade, several factors are usually evaluated, including:

Student’s age: Children are usually admitted to the first grade depending on their age in accordance with established norms and rules. Thus, children are admitted to the IB school department at the age of 6, and to the Russian-speaking school from the age of 7.
Development of speech skills: The level of speech development and language skills of the child are taken into account.
Psychoemotional state: The emotional stability and readiness of the child to study at school are assessed. So school psychologists will evaluate through various tasks

– the ability to plan and check your actions, to reason;

– the ability to navigate in space;

-the ability to switch from one action to another (concentration and switching of attention);

– formation of motor skills, pace of work and efficiency;

-the ability to follow instructions and other indicators of the child’s development.

Physical health: The general physical condition of the child is checked.
Pre-school training: The ability to count, recognize letters, colors, shapes and other basic skills.
Socialization: The ability to adapt to a new environment, independence, interaction with other children.

The age of the child's admission to the first grade?

The first class of the international department of our school accepts students from the age of 6, while the Russian-speaking department accepts children from the age of 7 into the first class.

Are extracurricular activities provided?

In both departments of the school there are creative clubs, sports classes, as well as additional classes that your child can attend depending on his preferences and interests.

Extracurricular activities at Oxbridge International School include various types of educational, creative, sports and socio-cultural activities that take place outside the academic schedule.

The purpose of extracurricular activities is the versatile development of students, the disclosure of their creative potential, the formation of various social skills, as well as the creation of conditions for self-realization and self-expression of each child. Such events may include various clubs (list below), sections, sports events, creative contests and festivals, excursions, camps, volunteer projects and much more.

Extracurricular activities allow children and adolescents to develop various skills and interests, communicate with peers and teachers in an informal setting, which contributes to their personal growth and health promotion. A variety of extracurricular activities can significantly enrich the educational process, contributing to the formation of students’ positive attitude towards learning and school in general.

Recently, a humanitarian game dedicated to our city was held at our school. The event was attended by students of grades 9-11 of the schools “Diplomat”, “Sekhrie” and “Oxbridge International School”. Tashkent is an ancient city that has gone through many historical trials. Therefore, the game had a lot of questions and tasks on history: a quiz, an analysis of city maps, and the correlation of architectural monuments with them.

What kind of clubs are provided in your school?

Is it possible to transfer a child from one department to another?

Yes. Subject to availability of seats in the classroom, as well as successful completion of testing, the child can be transferred from one department to another.

What kind of program do children study?

The International Baccalaureate (IB) program is provided in the international department of our school. Students of the Russian-speaking department study according to the state program with additions of the Russian program, which provides a focus on mathematics and English.

What is the school schedule?

The working schedule of the IB school is from Monday to Friday from 8.00 to 17.00. The working schedule of the Russian-speaking department is from Monday to Friday from 8.00 to 18.00.

How many children are in the same class?

The maximum number of students per class in both departments is 24.
In high school, as in international (11th-12th grade)  so in the Russian-speaking (10th-11th grade) department, students are taught according to the chosen profile. Also, English in the Russian-speaking department is taught in small groups, which are divided depending on the level of language proficiency.

What kind of excursions and trips are there?

The educational program of both departments and the kindergarten provides educational trips around the city of Tashkent. Such as museums, parks, exhibitions, various organizations such as banks, universities, factories and factories.

In addition, students of our school are participants in various tournaments, conferences and competitions that are held abroad.The school’s students took part and won prizes at the HMCA International Conference in Seoul, South Korea. Harvard Model Congress Asia is a global conference where international high school students study and gain experience in government by playing the roles of officials in the United States government and several international political organizations. Students from more than twenty countries gather at conferences and work together to solve problems facing governments around the world

It should be noted that the students of the Oxbridge International School became the winners of the WSC World Cup held in Uzbekistan, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates. The World Scholar’s Cup is an annual international academic program attended annually by more than 15,000 students from more than 65 countries. This international academic competition provides students with a platform to practice public speaking, writing and critical thinking skills. In addition to participating in the tournament, participants can also use this experience as part of their portfolio for admission to universities abroad.

On February 23, 2023, students of middle and high schools of Oxbridge International School took part in the international conference “Model UN “MIS MUN-2023” in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The theme of the conference is “Preventive diplomacy and global citizenship”. The Model UN is a large organization that unites different nations to promote peace and security for the inhabitants of our planet. This conference “Model UN “MUN – 2023” is very important for students, as it gives them the opportunity to learn how to solve global problems of humanity, consolidate in their work, and not repeat the mistakes of the old generation. Such cooperation helps and inspires today’s youth to build a just, peaceful, tolerant and sustainable world.

The school’s football team has twice won prizes in the largest international youth tournament in Turkey.  The tournament was attended by teams from Uzbekistan, Germany, Lebanon, Russia, Kazakhstan, Austria, the Czech Republic, England, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Jordan, Turkey and other countries.  The matches were served by official referees and observers from Turkey.

When are the students on vacation?

Children have summer holidays and 4 periods of seasonal holidays, 2 of them in the first half of the year, 2 in the second. The academic calendar is issued at the beginning of the academic year.

During the school year, there are the following holidays: autumn (1 week), winter (2

weeks), spring (2 weeks) and summer (2 months).

How many quarters are there in school?

There are four quarters in one academic year.

From which countries do our teachers work?

Uzbekistan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Canada, France, Spain, Brazil, Turkey, South Africa, Iran, Philippines, Venezuela, Pakistan, Indonesia.

Is there a fee for passing the entrance test?

The cost of registration for the entrance test is 400,000 soums.

The amount of money (in the amount of 400,000 soums) paid for the entrance test of 1 child allows you to be tested in both departments of the school (international/Russian-speaking departments).

Do children study other foreign languages?

In the Russian-speaking department of our school, the program includes 3 main languages: Russian, Uzbek and English.

The educational program of the IB department is conducted in English, children also learn Russian and Uzbek languages. Moreover, Spanish and French are also taught at the school starting from the 3rd grade, at the choice of the students themselves. There are also additional classes in Arabic, Spanish and French.

Is there a dormitory on the school grounds?

Solbridge International School is a day school where children and teenagers study during the day, after which the students return to their homes.

How do I get to school? Is there a school bus?

The school is located at 10 Oymarik Street, Mirzo-Ulugbek district, Tashkent. Buses and minibuses from all over the city travel here.

There is no school bus.

Is the IB department of the school accredited by the IBO?

To date, it is the only accredited IB World School in Uzbekistan, which provides an opportunity to receive both a state-issued secondary education certificate and a certificate of completion of the IB International Baccalaureate diploma program upon graduation.

In what year was the school built?

The Cambridge International School was built and started functioning in August 2018.

Are there psychologists and speech therapists at the school?

In each department of our school there are highly qualified psychologists and speech therapists who are ready to help and support children, teachers and parents.
