What is time management?

Time management for schoolchildren is an effective time management strategy that helps to cope with academic tasks, extracurricular activities and personal interests. It includes methods for planning, prioritizing tasks, managing breaks and avoiding distractions to optimize the learning process and achieve success in school and outside of school

Why is time management important for schoolchildren?

  • Improving academic performance. The ability to properly allocate time allows students to devote more time to study, do their homework efficiently and on time, which naturally leads to an increase in academic performance.
  • Stress reduction. When all tasks are planned out and time is used efficiently, the student has less reason to worry and stress.

Time management for schoolchildren

1. Plan your day.

  • Get a diary or use a special application.
  • Write down all the tasks you need to complete during the day.

2. Use the tomato method.

  • This method is to work for 25 minutes without a break, and then take a 5-minute break.
  • Repeat this cycle 4 times, then take a longer break for 20-30 minutes.
  • The tomato method helps to concentrate on work and avoid distractions.

3. Avoid procrastination.

  • Procrastination is putting things off for later.
  • To avoid procrastination, set realistic goals for yourself, break down large tasks into small ones and start working with the most difficult ones.
  • It is also important to remove from view anything that may distract you from work, such as your phone or computer.

4. Take breaks.

  • You can’t work without breaks.
  • Get up and move every 30-60 minutes.
  • Do exercises for the eyes.
  • Drink water.

5. Reward yourself.

  • When you complete the task, be sure to reward yourself.
  • It can be anything: delicious food, watching a movie, walking with friends.
